Life story

Born amidst the snow-capped mountains of Northern Mexico, shaped in the valleys of Central Mexico, and flourishing in the hill country of the Southern United States, life for me has been but a purse of artistic endeavors wherever they might be. Finally landing in Austin, Texas, during the city's musical renaissance period, I have been influenced by music from all spectrums, becoming a part of multiple records, music festivals, live performances, and the production of various projects in all genres. Eventually, I decided to collaborate in forming a musical project with Hispanic roots from different corners of Latin America. With a contrasting personality between a pirate and a nerd; I brings drive, vision, humor, charm, and structure. Now, he contributes to the unique sound of Chico Selfie, Lew Apollo, Johnny Fury adding his diverse experiences and influences to the ensemble.

Influences

Through my time as both a music lover and a musician, multiple types of genres have touched my soul. These include Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk, R&B, Neo-Soul, Soul, Gospel, Salsa, and Bossa Nova, just to name a few. Some artists that have influenced me the most are Ray Charles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Beatles, Oscar Peterson, D'Angelo, João Gilberto, Ruben Blades, James Brown, along with many others.

Genres in music (philosophy)

Music is its own language. How its phrased, and felt are what genres stylistically and structurally possess as their distinctive traits. There are only 12 notes in western music! It's all about how they are used, regardless of the instrumentation. Through my experience as a music lover and musician, life taught me a simple truth - there are only two types of music: good music and bad music...this philosophy applies to genres.
